State of Play: Why We’re Mobilizing on October 18th

10/14/2025

Picture
As shown in his behavior with military use against United States citizens, and as described in the No Kings website, president Trump believes his rule is absolute, but in America, we don’t bow to kings. Since taking office, his administration and supporters have acted as though they have a mandate—yet they don’t. Instead of serving the people, they’re going to extremes to consolidate power and line their pockets, all while cutting jobs and essential services that working families depend on.

💰 They’re using OUR tax dollars for THEIR power grab:
Public funds are being funneled into authoritarian actions—deploying federal forces, taking control of local police, and funding mass detention and deportation—while vital services are being slashed.

👑 We stand united against kings:
President Trump has openly expressed a desire for a third term, acting like a monarch—seizing control of D.C., threatening cities, and deploying federal forces against Americans. But America was founded on the idea that no one is above the law. We will mobilize peacefully, yet powerfully, to reject these abuses of power. Our country’s spirit is rooted in resistance to tyranny.

✋ They’ve crossed the line:
This is more than political disagreement. This administration has defied courts, deported citizens, disappeared people from streets, and gutted essential services—all while enriching billionaires. Enough is enough. If you believe they’ve gone too far, this movement is for you.

We’re uniting to stand against corruption, cruelty, and abuse of power.
On October 18, we come together to remind President Trump and his allies: America has No Kings!

Whether you’re outraged by assaults on civil rights, rising costs, disappearances, or the attack on free speech—this moment is for you. If you’ve been fighting for years or if you’re just fed up and ready to act, your voice matters now.

🛑 We need to show the strength of the people—peacefully and visibly.
On October 18, events will take place across the country—cities and towns in every state—to demonstrate that the majority of Americans are standing up against corruption and authoritarianism.

💪 The power is in your hands.
Join us. Find a mobilization nearby and sign up to participate. If there isn’t one in your area, use this toolkit to organize your own event. Together, we can make our voices heard and defend our democracy.

THINK TANK 2025

Current State of Intimate Partner Violence and Interpersonal Violence in the US - Prevention and Intervention Strategies Across the Lifespan
THIS EVENT HAS PASSED. HOWEVER SEE THINK TANK 2025 FULL REPORT
Join us at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego, California, on Sunday, August 17, 2025, 10am to 4pm ($25 registration, includes lunch). We will collaboratively explore how to respond to cultural, economic, and societal shifts—outlined in Project 2025—and understand how these changes influence violence between individuals and groups across the U.S.

Picture

About the Think Tank

Our invited speakers will kick off the morning by sharing their ideas on collaborative action steps to advance our shared goals, especially in light of the increasing social, political, and financial challenges we are all facing. Attendees will have the opportunity to openly discuss barriers they’ve encountered, what solutions are proving effective in 2025, and engage in meaningful dialogue about these ideas alongside our speakers.

In the afternoon, 4-5 focus groups will convene, where your active participation will be essential. These discussions will focus on how we can collectively address and respond to current issues in workplaces and communities. The insights gathered will be compiled into a report aimed at educating the public, community organizers, and policymakers at the local and state levels about how recent national and state-level changes are impacting vulnerable populations. The report will emphasize the urgent need for everyone to take targeted action at individual, community, and national levels to prevent a significant rise in violence—an increase that could cause irreparable harm to ourselves, our families, and our nation.

URGENT! Disappeared in America - A National Day of Action - Thursday, June 26, 2025

6/19/2025

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, Disappeared in America, a National Day of Action, will include:
  • Showing up at courthouses and town squares across the country to say, "In America, we don't let the government disappear people. That's not who we are".
  • Launching a National Photo Petition Day, where people will take photos with posters of those who have been disappeared and flood social media with the truth.

While Americans believe in the rule of law in the United States, the courts are also saying that due process is required. When the Trump administration ignores the courts and disappear lawful residents, there is no limit to what can come next. President Trump has said he wants to abduct and deport U.S. citizens. If this isn’t stopped now, no one is safe.

The Trump administration's policies have fueled fear and anxiety among families, regardless of status. This leads to unnecessary stress, including, including physical health and behavioral issues, psychosomatic symptoms, and mental health problems like depression and anxiety. Pediatricians also warn of long-term consequences from toxic stress, while many families avoid seeking services out of fear. Young children and teens, especially those with immigrant parents, experience heightened anxiety and emotional distress. Fear of family separation affects attendance and development. Trump’s policies have also increased worker stress, further impacting mental health.

A primary objective of this campaign is to call on local sheriffs and police to refuse to cooperate with ICE directives - for example, renting jail beds to ICE, participating in immigration raids, or transferring individuals to ICE detention centers (concentration camps). Sheriffs, state and highway patrol, and other local law enforcement have broad discretion in how much they cooperate with ICE, and exercising that discretion can help protect our communities. Having local law enforcement, and even the U.S. military participate with federal immigration puts an unnecessary burden on resources, but also erodes trust within our communities. It's time for law enforcement and the U.S. military to stand up to justice, human rights, and community integrity.

A core principle behind all Disappeared in America events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Urgent! NO KINGS Nationwide Day of Defiance

6/11/2025

NO KINGS Nationwide Day of Defiance
June 14, 2025
See News - "No Kings Day" was a success with over 2,100 scheduled events with over 12.1 million participants, including international solidarity, globally. Thank you for your support! See what's next on June 26, 2025.

As the nation prepares to witness a high-profile military parade in Washington, D.C., on Flag Day, June 14, a coalition of pro-democracy organizations calls for a different kind of national action. Instead of allowing this spectacle to dominate the national narrative, the NO KINGS Nationwide Day of Defiance aims to redirect attention to the values of democracy, community strength, and resistance to authoritarianism across the country.

This coordinated mobilization invites Americans everywhere to stand up against the misuse of power, corruption, and the alarming displays of authoritarianism associated with recent leadership. Through marches, rallies, and demonstrations—from city streets to small towns—activists will emphasize that true power resides with the people, not in staged displays of dominance. With over 1,800 events already registered, the movement seeks to demonstrate that the spirit of democracy is alive and well, rooted in community action and collective resilience.
