Honoring Veterans on November 11, 2025: A Call to Protect Our Future

11/11/2025

Today, November 11th, is Veterans Day, a federal holiday in the United States (U.S.) dedicated to honoring and recognizing the service of military veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces. Established to commemorate the armistice that ended World War I on November 11, 1918, Veterans Day pays tribute to all men and women who have served in the U.S. military. It is a day marked by ceremonies, parades, and reflections to express gratitude for the sacrifices made by veterans to protect the nation's freedoms and values.

Currently, the United States faces a challenging and uncertain future. The country’s condition has changed dramatically from what it was before 2025. Historically, American citizens, visitors, and the general public benefited from government protections guaranteed by federal agencies—covering fundamental human rights, dignity, mental health, healthcare, medication, disease prevention, research, financial stability, food and water safety, air quality, and more. These protections made the U.S. a model nation, built over centuries with the dedicated efforts of those who served and worked to uphold these values.

However, in 2025, with a new administration, many of these protections and federal agencies have been dismantled or are no longer active. It remains uncertain whether they will be restored. Despite having a proud history of 250 years, we now face the urgent need to take action to preserve and rebuild what was lost—restoring our country’s protections, freedoms, and core values.
Today, as we honor our military veterans, let us also remember what they have protected. And let us commit to Take Action by contacting our congressional representatives to advocate for the return of these essential protections and ensure that the U.S. military is never used against its own people on American soil.
