The JAMA Network comments on psychiatry and "Make America Healthy Again Commission". On February 13, 2025, the White House revealed the establishment of the Make America Healthy Again Commission. This commission has been charged with evaluating various issues, including "the prevalence and risks associated with prescribing selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, stimulants, and weight-loss medications," especially for children. The wording in the executive order suggests a concern that the commission may begin with the presumption that psychotropic medications are harmful to health. Read the full article.
