The "U.S. Military Answers to Civilian Authority and the Constitution - It is Not a Service of One Man's Personal Vanity". Senator Adam Schiff On June 14—Flag Day—Donald Trump plans to spend a minimum of $45 million to showcase tanks in the streets (that will result in additional millions of dollars from the damage to Washington DC streets, for repairs) and stage a televised display of dominance for his birthday—a spectacle he says is designed to project strength - but in reality, it shows weakness. It is also a waste of tax dollars, and it is a disgrace to our Country, military, allies, veterans, and to our Constitution. A $45 million waste that could go to veterans' administration programs and services. But instead, the Trump administration will spend $45 million on his birthday parade, with additional millions in street repairs in Washington, DC streets from tank damage, while he cuts over $37 million from veterans' programs and services. These cuts will also impact the federal workforce for hospitals and services, gutting veterans' health care, downsizing needed staff for the veterans' suicide hotline, and cutting vital medical research programs and health care services to veterans. While the Trump administration suggests this is for the military's 250th anniversary, and they say it's to show strength, the real power isn’t about staged parades in Washington. It’s built by communities, activists, and everyday people everywhere. No KINGS is a nationwide day of defiance, and we invite you—individuals, organizations, and communities—to join us in this powerful movement. From city blocks to small towns, from courthouse steps to community parks, together we will take action to reject authoritarianism and demonstrate what true democracy looks like. We are not gathering to inflate his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind. The flag and the military do not belong to Donald Trump—they belong to all of us. We’re not just watching history unfold—we’re making it. What Can You Do?
