News Alert: Our First Amendment Is Under Attack — Take Action Now!

The current administration's actions threaten to silence dissent and undermine the core principles of our Constitution. Similar to the Nazi regime led by Hitler, the 2025 Trump administration has progressively adopted authoritarian methods—diminishing civil liberties, suppressing opposition, and centralizing authority—significantly endangering democracy and all American citizens (see recent news). The recent unconstitutional arrests of international students and scholars—including Mahmoud Khalil, Rümeysa Öztürk, Badar Khan Suri, Mohsen Mahdawi, and others—shows the danger to Americans. These individuals were forcibly taken from their homes and communities by force by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) without notice, with their legal status threatened and their lives upended. Many of these actions appear to be retaliatory, targeting individuals for exercising their protected right to free speech

Our First Amendment guarantees the right to advocate for Palestine, Israel, or any cause, and even to criticize our own government. These rights are fundamental and constitutionally protected. However, the current administration continues to threaten to erode these protections, setting a dangerous precedent that no one is safe from government overreach simply for expressing their views. We must draw a clear line: our freedom of speech must be defended, and those who seek to silence it must be stopped.
